John Seitz

Chairman, CEO, Interim President & COO

John Seitz leads the management, financial and strategic direction of GulfSlope. He began his oil & gas career with Amoco Production Company, and then spent over 25 years at Anadarko Petroleum Corporation (NYSE: APC), serving most recently as Chief Executive Officer and President. He currently serves on the Investment Committee of Sheridan Production Partners, an oil & gas company with onshore US activities. Mr. Seitz is a Certified Professional Geological Scientist with the American Institute of Professional Geologists and is a Certified Petroleum Geoscientist with the American Association of Petroleum Geologists. He is also a licensed Professional Geoscientist with the State of Texas. In 2000, the Houston Geological Society honored Mr. Seitz as a “Legend in Wildcatting” . Mr. Seitz is also a member of the All-American Wildcatters. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology from the University of Pittsburgh and a Master of Science degree in Geology from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He also completed the Advanced Management Program at the Wharton School of Business.

John Malanga

Vice President & CFO

Mr. Malanga is an officer of GulfSlope and is responsible for leading the financial function of the organization, overseeing strategic planning and analysis, accounting and reporting, treasury, tax, audit and risk management. Mr. Malanga worked as a senior investment banker with the energy firms of Weisser, Johnson & Co. and Sanders Morris Harris Inc. Mr. Malanga began his investment banking career with Jefferies & Co. Over his career, he has participated in capital markets, mergers and acquisitions, and financial advisory transactions with particular emphasis on providing strategic and financial advice to emerging growth companies. Mr. Malanga holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics from Texas A&M University and a Master in Business Administration with a concentration in finance from Rice University.

Felix Acree

Vice President – Engineering and Business Development

Mr. Acree is responsible business development and reservoir engineering at GulfSlope. He formerly served as Reserves Manager for Sheridan Production Company. Prior experience included serving as president of Amac Energy LLC where he was responsible for running exploration and production operations. Mr. Acree also worked at Branta Exploration as Director of Engineering, at Endeavour International Corporation as Engineering & Planning Manager, at Devon Energy as Engineering & Geologic Manager in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and Anadarko Petroleum Corporation in various engineering positions. Mr. Acree holds a Bachelor of Science, Petroleum Engineering from Texas Tech University. Mr. Acree is a Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Texas and is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers.

Charlie Hughes

Vice President – Land

Mr. Hughes' executive responsibilities include all land and industry partner related matters. He formerly served as general manager – land and business development for Marubeni Oil & Gas (USA), Inc. from 2007 to 2014. From 1980 to 2007, Mr. Hughes served in roles of increasing responsibility both onshore and offshore in the Gulf of Mexico at Anadarko Petroleum Corporation. Mr. Hughes is a member and former Chairman of the OCS Advisory Board, a member of the Association of Professional Landmen, the Houston Association of Professional Landmen and the Professional Landmen’s Association of New Orleans. Mr. Hughes received his Bachelor of Business Administration in Petroleum Land Management from the University of Texas.
